If you’re a Windows 10, 8, or 7 user, you can automatically log in to your computer by following these simple steps:

  1. Open the Start menu and type “cmd” (without the quotes) and hit enter.
  2. Type “netstat -an” and hit enter.
  3. Look for the “Connections” tab and look for the “Windows 10 (x64)” connection. If it’s listed, click on it and then click on the “properties” button to change its properties. For example, if you want to connect to a VPN server, you would change its properties to include that information.
  4. Click on the “Logon” button in the Properties window of the Windows 10 (x64) connection and then type your username and password into the login fields. You’ll be asked for your personal information such as your name and address before logging in.

Note: We’re showing Windows 8 in this example, but this should work in Windows 10, Windows 7, or Windows Vista as well.

Setting Windows to Logon Automatically

Press the Windows + R keyboard combination to bring up a run box, when it appears type netplwiz and hit enter.

This will open the User Accounts dialog box, which will display a list of all the users on your computer.

Select your user account from the list, then uncheck the “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer” checkbox then click the apply button.

This will bring up the Automatically sign in dialog, where you will need to input your password then click OK.

Click OK again to close the User Accounts dialog and you’re good to go.
