If you’re like most people, your inbox is a cluttered mess. You’ve got messages from friends, work emails, and spam clogging up your view. But there’s no need to let your inbox get out of control. In this article, we’ll show you how to quickly clean your inbox in Outlook 2003 and 2007. First, make sure that you’re using the latest version of Outlook. If you’re not sure which version you’re using, click on the “File” menu and select “Properties.” Then look under the “Version” heading to see which version number is listed. Next, open your inbox and click on the “Inbox” tab. Under the “Messages” heading, click on the “Move To” button. This will open a window where you can select which folder to move your messages to. Click on the “Move Messages To” button and select a folder that’s convenient for you. For example, if you have a lot of work-related emails in your Inbox, it might be best to move them to your “Work Inbox.” Once you’ve selected a folder, click on the “OK” button to move all of your messages there. Now that all of your messages are in one place, it’s time to start cleaning them up! First, make sure that all of your unimportant messages are deleted. This includes emails from friends, spam mailings from companies that you don’t subscribe to, and any other irrelevant messages. Next, delete any unnecessary emails from your Inbox by clicking on the message and then clicking on the “Delete Message” button located next to it. Finally, make sure that all of your important emails are properly organized by subject matter by clicking on the message header and then sorting through the various categories that appear below it. ..

To get to this window, click on Tools \ Mailbox Cleanup.

In this window you have several options to choose from. The easiest option is to select AutoArchive, which will move older items into the Archive Folder. You could also choose to empty the deleted items.

One of the more useful features however, is to quickly find all large emails using the “Find items larger than” button. Deleting all the largest emails would very quickly bring your inbox size down to a reasonable level.
