If you’re like most Firefox users, you probably have a lot of tabs open. But if you’re like me, you might be wondering how to save tab space for frequently used tabs in Firefox. There are a few ways to do this, but the best way is probably FaviconizeTab. FaviconizeTab is a Firefox extension that helps you add icons to your tabs so that they look more like icons on your desktop. This will make it easier for you to find and use yourtabs more quickly and efficiently. To use FaviconizeTab, just open Firefox and click on the three lines in the top left corner of the window. Then select “Faviconize Tab.” You’ll then be able to choose which folders or files you want to add icons to your tabs. Once you’ve added all of your desired folders or files, click on “OK.” Then close Firefox and enjoy using yourtabs more efficiently!

Let’s take a look at my Firefox window on a normal day…  look how much space the tab buttons are taking.

Now look at my browser with the FaviconizeTab extension installed. So much cleaner!

The best thing about this extension is that you can configure it to always shrink down certain tabs, based on the URL.  You can also choose your preference for how to shrink the tab, or just use the right-click “Faviconize” from the menu.

You’ll notice that I added in the URL for Google Reader and Gmail into the list. This now a must-have extension for me.

If you have a commonly used tab that doesn’t have an icon, you can try using the Favicon Picker as well.
