SATA hard drives are a popular choice for many computer users because they offer high speed and low price. However, there are some ways to speed up SATA hard drives in Windows 7 or Vista. The first way is to use the Disk Speedup utility. This utility can help you increase the speed of your SATA hard drive. The disk speedup utility can be found on the Start menu and it is usually located under Programs and Features. The second way to speed up your SATA hard drive is to use the defragmenter. This tool can help you optimize your data so that it is faster and more consistent. The defragmenter can be found on the Tools menu of the Windows operating system and it is usually located under System Tools. The third way to speed up your SATA hard drive is to use a RAID card. A RAID card helps you create a group of disks that are used together instead of individual disks. This group of disks can be faster because they are combined together in a single disk space. RAID cards are available in different sizes and colors so that you can find one that best suits your needs.

You can quickly get to Device Manager by just typing device into the start menu search box. (Or from the command line, devmgmt.msc)

Open the Disk drives section of the tree, and right-click on your hard drive, choosing Properties.

Select the Policies tab, and you should see this dialog:

Click the checkbox for Enable advanced performance, and you are done.
