Ubuntu is a Linux distribution that comes with a lot of different applications and tools. It can be difficult to tell which version of Ubuntu you are running, especially if you are not familiar with the system. Here are some tips to help you determine which Ubuntu version you are running:

  1. Check the system logs for clues about what version of Ubuntu is running. The logs may contain information about installed applications, kernel versions, and other system activity.
  2. Use the Ubuntu Software Center to search for specific software and versions of Ubuntu. This tool can be used to install software, view software updates, and manage installed applications.
  3. Use a terminal emulator or another program to check the system status information for Ubuntu. This information may include information about installed applications, kernel versions, and other system activity.

Note that the version numbers might change over time. I’m running the beta version so that’s what shows up when I run that command. Either way, it should be clear that you are running Edgy.
