Blackbox is a software application that can be used to track and monitor the activities of a computer. Blackbox is available as a free and open source software application. Blackbox is easy to use and can be installed on Ubuntu Linux using the following steps:

  1. First, install the Ubuntu Software Center. This will allow you to install Blackbox without any problems.
  2. Once the Ubuntu Software Center has been installed, open it and click on the “Install” button.
  3. After the installation has been completed, open Blackbox and click on the “Open” button.
  4. After opening Blackbox, you will need to create an account if you do not have one already. If you do not have an account, please create one now by clicking on the “Create Account” button.
  5. Once an account has been created, enter your name and password into the accounts fields and click on the “Create Account” button.
  6. After creating an account, you will need to select a location for Blackbox to store its data files (if desired). If you do not want Blackbox to store its data files in a specific location, please select this option when creating your account or later when configuring Blackbox for your computer’s use. Click on the “Select Location” button to continue with your configuration process.
  7. After selecting a location for BlackBox’s data files, click on the “Configure” button to continue with your configuration process; this will allow you to set up preferences for how BlackBox should behave in future sessions (for example, whether or not it should start automatically when your computer starts up). Click on the “Configure” button again if you want to make changes to your settings after they have been set up; however, note that changes made after clicking on this button may not take effect until next time that your computer starts up!

Installing Blackbox is a simple process. You will want to make sure that you have selected the alternate install repositories.

Open a terminal window and use the following command:

Once the install is complete, log out and click on the Options button in the lower left hand corner:

You will see a menu listing all of the window managers installed on your system. Select Blackbox from the menu, and continue to log in.

The Blackbox desktop is extremely simple, and looks a lot like Fluxbox. Right clicking on the background will give you the menu:
