Fonts can be a great way to add personality and style to your web pages. But they can also be a bit fuzzy, which can make it difficult to read text. To fix this, you can use a font family that is more crisp and clear. Here are some tips on how to make Safari Fonts less fuzzy:
- Choose a more crisp font family. Some good families for crisp fonts include Arial, Helvetica, sans-serifs like Tahoma, and serifs like Monaco. Try different families to see which one works best for your needs.
- Use smaller sizes for text. When you use smaller sizes for text in Safari Fonts, you’ll need to reduce the number of glyphs that are used per character. This will make the font look more crisp and clear on screen. You can do this by adjusting the font size in Safari’s Preferences dialog box or by using the keyboard shortcut Command+Option+I (Windows: Command+Option+I).
Just go to Edit \ Preferences, and choose the Appearance tab.
You should see a “Font Smoothing” dropdown menu, which you can change to “Light” to make the font smoothing less “fuzzy”. Here’s some example screenshots for your enjoyment:
Font smoothing: Medium (more fuzzy)
Font smoothing: Light (less fuzzy)
Font smoothing: Strong (absurdly fuzzy)
Take your pick! I personally chose Light as my default, and it seems to make a big difference.
