If you’re like most people, your to-do list is constantly growing. And with so many things vying for your attention, it can be hard to keep track of what’s important and what can wait. Microsoft Outlook 2007 has a new feature called the “Make To-Do Bar.” This bar shows only today’s tasks, so you can easily see what’s important and get started on those tasks right away. To use the Make To-Do Bar, first open Outlook 2007. Then click the File tab and select Options. In the Options dialog box, click the General tab and under “Taskbar,” select Show The Make To-Do Bar When I Open Outlook. Click OK to close the Options dialog box. Now when you open Outlook 2007, the Make To-Do Bar will appear at the bottom of your screen. The bar will show all of your current tasks, as well as any new tasks that have been added since you last opened Outlook 2007. You can also drag and drop tasks from one section of the bar to another. The Make To-Do Bar is a great way to keep track of your priorities and get started on those important tasks right away. ..

One of the first things I did when I started using Outlook 2007 was to change the filter to only show the tasks for the current day, or if you want, you can also show tasks that are overdue as well.

To change this setting, just right-click on the “Arranged By” column and then choose Custom from the menu.

Note: You could just click the Filter button and then change the Time drop-down on the Tasks menu to “due” and the second drop-down to “today”. The only problem with this is that it won’t show overdue tasks, so we’ll do it a different way.

In this step, we’ll click on the Filter button, then click the Advanced tab, then click the Field drop-down button. Choose Date/Time fields and then Due Date from the menu.

Now change Condition to “on or before” and type in today into the Value box.

Now we’ll see Today’s tasks as well as the overdue ones.

But you’d never forget to do something, would you? =)
