If you’re like most people, you have a toolbar on your desktop that includes a few tools that you use frequently. The most common of these is the bookmark toolbar. But if you want to reduce the number of toolbar buttons on your desktop, there are a few ways to do it. One way is to create a custom toolbar button and add it to the bookmark toolbar. This will make it easy for you to access the bookmark toolbar from any location on your desktop. Another way is to remove all of the toolbar buttons from the bookmark toolbar and then add them back when you want them again. This will make it easier for you to find and use the bookmark toolbar quickly and easily. ichever way you choose, be sure to keep track of which tools are in which toolbar and how many they are so that you can reduce their number even further!
Before
Here is our example browser with a somewhat minimalized UI…not too bad but it could certainly be reduced further. Before you install the extension you should go ahead and hide your “Bookmarks Toolbar”.
After
As soon as you have installed the extension and restarted Firefox you will see the following message window. Click “OK” to get that wonderful button added to your “Navigation Toolbar”.
Now that is definitely looking better…all of that bookmark goodness in one little button!
Options
The options for the extension are easy to sort through…decide how you would like to handle searches, middle clicking on bookmarks, and the “Open All in tabs” option.
Conclusion
If you have been looking for a way to further reduce your UI in Firefox and yet retain easy access to all your bookmarks in the Bookmarks Toolbar, then the Bookmarks Menu extension will be a perfect fit for you.
